GDrive Finally Showing Some Love for Linux?

Could it be? Could Google finally be throwing some support to the linux users amongst us?

Google Desktop, no linux client

Google Earth, no linux client (though the beta has mediocre Linux support)

Picasa, no linux client (woo-hoo!)

But now… the rumored GDrive release looks to have a linux client according to the screenshot. If it’s true, then thank you (finally) Google!

Scott, I hope Google earth is a native Linux client. Picasa is basically an app bundled with wine - which doesn't feel at all like a first class citizen on linux.. Still, considering that most companies don't bother with Linux at all, I shouldn't be complaining.

Hm, I thought Google Earth on Linux worked perfectly. Don't know why you thought it was mediocre.

Uhm, the latest Google Earth beta was released for Windows, Mac, and Linux all at the same time.

Google Earth on Linux runs under Wine - in much the same way that Internet Explorer and World of Warcraft do.That hardly counts as Linux support. (though it's nice that Google's installer includes the wine libs it needs)
